Was watching Geo Fatboy today and he was shaving with this this AM - an update to the REX Ambassador - basically adds a longer handle.

I have the original model, and I think it is a fine razor and hits all my buttons - top-notch craftsmanship, stainless steel (my favorite material for razors), and a nod towards the past while being modern. If I had any critiques of the razor - IMO it is extremely aggressive and I have only found one blade to tame it, even on the lower settings.

I wonder if this was available when I bought my REX, which model I would have chosen - as I do prefer longer handles. I think probably I would have stuck with the smaller one given it is an homage to the Gibbs which I really admire. It is more expensive than the original as well. I don’t see myself in the market for this one - though I can definitely see the appeal - thought our gang would find this interesting.

Here are the specs for comparison between the XL and the original.
