Was at a store today and saw this sitting in a box ready for sale.
Looks like I may have lucked out.
These are available for preorder right now. Not sure how this one got out.
Have these been released before?
It didn't come with any of the internal paperwork but it looks to be in perfect shape.

REX has its first run release of about 150 razors - there are a few of us that have them - the second run of 500 Is set to happen any day now. The fact that you got it for $45 - it looks like the store erred significantly in their pricing.

Chris Bailey on YouTube had one of the initial batch, and complained about machine marks under the base plate. I just got one of the latest batch. No machine marks. As for the razor itself, I think it's fine after a couple of uses. I'm not sure it warrants the price unless you find the idea of an adjustable slant irresistible, which I guess I do.
