Good stuff Chad. Great dissection of the soaps! The difference could be the menthol. But I am still going to stick with my previous batches and it might be a little inconsistency between batches!

Menthol alone will not make a soap hard, I don’t believe. There are plenty of soaps out there that have menthol in them that are still soft.

Nice review Chad...not sure if the menthol is what is making it soft. I think Don might be on to something regarding the Oatmeal Stout. Plus you have to realize that if they used actual beer instead of EO/FO's in the saponification process, that's additional ingredients not accounted for in the ingredient list. THere are a number of different reason why the soaps are so much different.
