Known widely as the Quaker Oats guy...he also was a Marine and evidently got his start in Hollywood as a stuntman in Westerns in the 60s. I just learned that he was also a bodyguard for Howard Hughes, was a ranch hand, blacksmith and shoed horses.
He played in "The China Syndrome" and "The Natural" as well as many other movies.
