Razor identification help

ChefJoel

Shave Newbie
I purchased a Joseph Allen and sons razor at an antique mall. I was wondering if anyone could help me date it or has any info on it. It has an etching on the blade. The only other information I have is that it said worlds fair on the price tag. Any information would be greatly appreciated

The razor has England stamped on the tang. Due to the (McKinley) Tariff Act 1890, all straights imported to America had to have country of manufacture stamped. So it was made sometime between 1890 and 1925 when Joseph Allen ceased operations. If you can identify the city that is etched on the blade face that would allow you to more accurately date the razor.
