i got some of tom fords ebene fume a while back and i have really grown to like the smell of this particular fragrance as well as palo santo. i was wondering if any of you know of some shaving soaps i could try out with palo santo in them. if anyone knows of some good palo santo fragrances besides tom fords ebene fume, feel free to post them here. looking for any recommendations thanks
 
CBL Soaps "smoulder" is pretty much an Eben Fume clone. I really like the way Palo Santo smells but the 'pure' Palo Santo oil I have isnt as enjoyable as burning peices of Palo Santo wood like you would incense, it's like the real magic of Palo Santo heppens when it is burned rather than the oil itself. Although not the same, if you like Palo Santo you would probably really like Guaiac wood (resin) scented stuff too. I am not aware of any fragrances that are heavy with guaiac wood but I think that is because as a fragrance it tends to fall in the middle note category. Even when I use a TON of the resin the scent (to my nose) never gets to be super strong.

Edit: Technically Guaiac wood and Palo Santo are the similar and some will say they are the same thing BUT Guaiac Wood resin does not smell the same as the wood ...if that makes sense. To me the resin is sweeter and even has a fruity or maybe floral note while "palo santo" smells more woody, a little sweet with kind of a citrus or anise like note. Burnt, Palo Santo smells lovely

I buy these at my local Metaphysical Shop. They are usually near the incense. I've also seen them at Mexican or Indian grocery stores.
Those stores usually have a great selection of Murray & Lanman colognes (like Florida Water!) These are usually $5-$10. Also found on Amazon

Well I ordered a bottle of the Murray & Lanman Palo Santo and the Holy Wood from Cusellas. I'm sure it will be enjoyable.
 
Got the splashes I ordered from Amazon today. Of the two the M&L Palo santo is more true to expectations, in fact it is VERY similar to that Smokey Palo santo notes in Ebene Fume. The other one is far milder in overall presence and seems more spiced with something of a bubblegum sweet note. Of the two I think M&L Palo Santo is what you would want if you want an in your face Palo Santo. The other one could be used without fear it would intrude on the air space or linger very long. Bang for the buck goes to good old Murray and Lanman
