OSP Orange & Patchouli

It was, at least for me, one of the most narcotizing shaving soap scents that ever there was. I only had a sample, but I must have smelled it a thousand times before using it all up. Alas, the co. shuttered their shingle and that soap is no more. It was just perfect in scent strength and each scent was readily present in beautiful concert.

I hope that CBL would make a small batch of these two scents together as they meld so well. Just sayin'.....

I always "thought" patchouli stunk...... based off purely reputation alone. Then I finally smelled it, and it's great! I'd definitely be game to try Patchouli/Orange.

A lot of people like OSP! I discovered them after they closed shop and decided that if I can't get the stuff...I probably shouldn't want it. Really good stuff though.

My prayers have been answered and just ordered!!! 🕺😍

My tub of Lisa's Artisan Orange Patchouli arrived yesterday and today I used it for the first time. It would be redundant for me to state simply how good I think her soap is. It has everything: superb scent, glide, cushion, latherability. It simply ticks all my boxes. You can really sense the quality in her creations + she is an artisan who cares about us.

I want to publicly acknowledge her patience in explaining to me some of the science involved in the process of making shaving soap. Lovely lady. (y)

And???? How’d it smell? Was it what you were looking for?

The patchouli is very different. It ain't your typical "Cheech & Chong" stuff. Very hearty and satisfyingly different. Not "thermonuclear" like Stirling Glastonbury however. I can sense the orange, but the oud & vanilla really complement this. It's beautifully blended. Does it smell exactly like the OSP OP? No, but Lisa's has a lot more going on and is expertly blended.

I got a patchouli and frankincense scented room spray from Walmart for our family gift game and when my daughter ended up with it everyone was poo pooing the whole patchouli idea...until she sprayed it. A few minutes later, after everyone had forgotten she had sprayed it we were all wondering where that wonderful smell was coming from. The resulting scent is unbelievable. I like patchouli so I’m willing to try most patchouli combos but a straight up smack you in the face full on hippie patchouli and real orange sounds amazing. If Lisa did anything with patchouli where it’s a dominant scent I would imagine it’s pretty nice.

All right, not really in need of Big Bamboo but am interested in a Roundabout way some Deja Vu on the Dark Side of the Moon. So I took a shaves worth of this soap and smooshed it in the shaving bowl - last night. Tonight the Cinnamon Girl whiffed it before I shaved and thought the Patchouli was up front. So I gave her the tub and she said the Orange is up front. Now we're getting somewhere. Had a hunch the orange might be more volitile than the patchouli. Building lather it was roughly Orange = Patchouli. Yum! So now 2 nights of shaves are smooshed in the bowl and we'll see where this lands in 2 days.
