On the road next week

I'll be living out of hotels all next week. Since I always pack a checked bag, I have no problem bringing along DE blades. I've settled on the Rockwell 6s, plates R1/3 and R2/4 and the accessories you see.

Share your travel shaving kits if you like!

Here’s what I usually take.

The gumball or an altoids tin is perfect for a Gillette Tech or other small razor.

Also, those “Do not eat” drying packs that come in your electronics, are perfect for throwing in your razor case and dopp kit!

I’ve heard of the altoids tin idea. I’ll have to see if I have a razor that will fit. That’s a smart move.

Nice setup @NurseDave!

I just tried the at-home version of my travel kit:

What a great combo. The 7o'clock SS is one excellent blade and pairs well with R3 for my 24 hour shaving requirements. Very smooth, very comfortable shave. Just super efficient and easy all around ?

Loving your travel kits guys! I'm not one of those guys who packs only a carry on. I actually am the opposite. I only want a small bag to carry my kindle and laptop and maybe a couple other small things. So I almost always check a bag. As such, whenever I travel, I bring an entire set of shaving gear! I might decant some witch hazel into a smaller bottle...but that's about it.

When I travel these days, it is usually for vacation and I take a break from shaving, however this last trip, I had to tend to family matters, which did require me to shave (and to comb my hair), but I still kept it simple. This Fall, I will be taking a longer vacation where I would have to look presentable most of the time, and so this setup will be put to the test. 100% TSA carry on compliant.

Yep same here. .always check a bag. What a day. Flew from Providence to Reno via Chicago. Had an assigned seat for first leg then had to wait till just before boarding on second flight to get my seat. Sitting in my hotel room trying to post on a tiny smart phone screen.

But I'll be ready for tomorrow's shave ?

Overall a really good shave this a.m. but the cheapie synthetic brush wasn't as comfortable as I remembered. I've gotten spoiled by Razorock Plisoft brushes and I don't believe that one is...felt a little prickly and stiff. Last tine I used it was several years ago and I bowl lathered Proraso with it then.

I'll have to look into this when I get home. One more shave in this hotel tomorrow then it's off to the mid west for the next one!

Have a safe trip. I don't fly often, but the last time I did, we checked a bag. I took an Arko stick, Everready Shovelhead, some Lucky Tiger Vanishing Cream, and Fine Italian Citrus AS.

Thanks Dave and Don. Tomorrow will be a fast paced morning. Wake up, shower, shave get airport to drop off rental and check in for next stop and hotel in Terre Haute, IN.

Once again I'll be relying on my setup to give me a smooth start to the day ?

I did manage to find an app for Android that will resize images for web posting. This was taken a couple of hours ago at Lake Tahoe with my Galaxy S7. Lake Tahoe is just about 40 minutes up the road from where I"m staying Not sure how it will look on a full screen till I get home.

Ah Tahoe...lovely getaway in the mountains! I’m fortunate to only be a couple hours from there on a bad day!

Spread the word of GTB brother! All I know is convention usually means "free pen" and I'm way into free.

Yes very nice scenery there, very beautiful.. I am now in Indiana until the end of the week. Another hotel but everything is pretty nice here (Terre Haute area). Not a lot for sight seeing but good eats ?

And I'm back home! Traveling all day stinks, but after driving to the airport at 6am at my departure location and pulling in my own driveway about 9+ hours later, I'm back on familiar turf for a while.

All week (Mon-Fri) I used the same Gillette 7o'clock Super Stainless blade. For the first shave I used my Rockwell 6s and plate 3, then used plate 4 the remaining shaves. After each shave I removed the blade, returned it to its waxed wrapper and safely stored it for the next. I didn't want to leave it in the hotel trash so it returned home in my checked bag.

Mission accomplished
