Hi all.
Gasman here. Some of you may recognize my handle from other shaving forums. I've been shaving with a Straight Razor for over 8 years now. And had many years of DE/SE/Injector shaving. On one of the other forums, I am a Mentor and help in the monthly giveaways so I donate my time when I can to help others. I found this forum by a member of that another forum telling me there is someone here I might know or would have something in common with if nothing else. Longhaultanker you must be my long-lost brother. I too am a Driver. I haul Gas. I used to do long haul but no longer. I enjoy getting home and sleeping in my own bed that is not in the truck. And the ol' lady likes having me around. LOL. I've been driving for 43 years in Feb, and have been sniffing gas for 17 years now. LOL.

So to everyone, I thank you for letting me join. I will take a minute to read the rules and hope I can join in on discussions and help others when I can. Forgive me for my writing and spelling as I really don't care. I'm a truck driver. Not someone in an office. I will try to use spell check as much as possible. Now to see what kind of pic I can find to use for an avatar.

BTW, My location is Colorado. I haul fuel all over the state and in the surrounding states as well. As long as I got time to get home at night.

Welcome to the Cadre!

I work in jet aircraft refueling so I suppose you could say my job is the business end of your job.

What are some of the shaving hardware and software you’re interested in? It’s about this time of the year when I start bringing out all my woody scented soaps.

That would take way too long to answer.
To make it as short as possible, I keep a spreadsheet to keep track of my Razors. Another to keep track of my Soaps. I don't need a spreadsheet for my brushes as I only have 49 brushes including the vintage brushes that just collect dust on the shelf. My razor count is around 250 +/-

If I can quickly figure out how to post a pic I will show my Razor Cabinet and Box of Rocks (Hones). That should help to show what I'm talking about.

Razor Cabinet 2.jpg

All drawers are full! and I have another stack of Natural hones too not in the Box of Rocks.

That’s some commitment right there [emoji50], that’s a lot of straights.

Welcome to TSC. I think you’ll everyone here very friendly. Yes, remember you… well, the name anyway. Wasn’t it you that nicknamed some of my honing styles “lazy-honing”? Put on Netflix for an hour and hone away. Works best on Arkansas stones. The name stuck and I like it.

I’ve been busy with work. Houston to Toronto a lot. Some Calgary. So I’ve laid low from the forums. Frankly, had enough of the confrontation. TSC has received me well these few weeks I’ve been here and I like the fellas I’ve exchanged with.

I’m doing a lost of shaving and honing videos. Posting them on YouTube then here.

I thank you for letting me join.
Wait...who let this guy join? 🤪 I kid...really! Super happy you found our little corner of the interwebz! We are in dire need of new victims...err...members. So please, pullup a chair and grab a beer, or chocolate milk if that is your thing...and join in on a conversation or two.

Welcome to TSC!

If I said that it's not in my memory. But hey. I guess it's possible. But if you're going to hone or an Arkie, that's the way to do it! LOL. Long and slow.

Welcome to the forum Jerry! We need more straight shavers around these parts! Glad to have you! I’ve been straight shaving for about 7 years myself, looking forward to your posts!

This year I have been using every type of razor I have. Bouncing back and forth and all over. I can tell my S.R. abilities are lacking a little now but I still get the job done. I've found a few in my collection that needs to go back to the stones too. Recently I've been enjoying the Crave CB Brass with an F plate with a Nacet blade. This DE really works well for me. But then again E-2 injector and the 1912 Gem are fun too. When I have to travel the Feather DX comes out. It's just fun to have learned many and to be able to switch up types and still get a good shave.
