Nacet Blades

"TSC's Shave Sales Deal Finder"
So, I've been using Gillette Nacets for a while now. I have a small stock all of which are the Nacet Blades in a plain wax paper wrapping. I recently ordered 300 and found they all had a wrapping with 'NACET' printed all over the covering. The box, etc are all the same (and I believe they all came from Jordan).

I didn't think anything of it, and it is probably the same... Maybe a newer design. However after unwrapping one, I feel like the labeled design is a lot smoother and just as (or more) sharp and effective.

Does anyone know if there is any difference? Perhaps it's just me or this specific tuck came off of a newer machine than the others?

Whatever it is, I'm very happy. Curious if anyone has seen this and has any insight or thoughts.

Thanks.

All of the Nacets I have are as you described with the logo printed all over the wax paper wrapper. I have had zero issues with them, and if these are somehow "fake", then I want more "fakes" as they rock! I'm using one of them now as my 3rd Annual February "One Blade" Challenge! blade.

EDIT: I wanted to add my SOTD pic from Monday Feb 1 as it shows the blade still in the wrapper.

Here's what the two look like:

The one like yours is newer (2019). The all white is older (2018). Only other difference that jumps out at me is the recycle symbol and Made in Russia printed on the box of the 2019 variant.

I don't think any of them are 'fake'. I didn't catch the Russia part looking before. I wonder if the plain white ones are from another location? If so, that makes some sense.

Like you, I was impressed with the printed 'Nacet' version. Not that the other (older) version wasn't good. It shaves quite well. But the difference made me question what's going on here, is all.

I've had some of these plain white blades for a while. They'll just have to sit around for longer now, since I'm obviously going to use the newer printed ones first. Lol.

Thanks for the reply Tony. Appreciate any and all insight I can get. [emoji106]

Was chatting with a guy in another neighborhood. I am wondering if they are from separate plants. Only the newer (logo vers) state Made in Russia.

This then makes me wonder if it's like Molsen Export Ale, which I've never tried but have been told is the lesser of their beers (because it's for export). Mother Russia gets the best of the blades, first? Lol. 😉

I was going to mention, but it seems you might have figured it out. But I remember back a while there was talk of Nacets made in Russia and Nacets made somewhere else. I could be wrong, but I am sure that they are all legit but made from separate plants. Not sure if one is better than the other or not. My experience with Nacet blades are that they are a really good blade.

Well. There was a lot of chatter across the boards about Chinese Super Nacets (as well as a really old thread somewhere discussing the Platinum Nacets - also made in China). I couldn't find anything specific to these differences in appearance, so I'm just guessing. It does feel like there is a difference in the blade quality. That could just be older machines, but the label and wrapping difference makes me curious.

Ooh well. The plan of attack is to use the labeled ones first, because they're awesome. Lol. [emoji1787]
