My New Coticule

guillermo

Shave Newbie
Hello All,
I just purchased this coticule, it is 7.75 x 3.75 inches in size, I'm hoping that someone here might be able to tell me,(what type it is, how I can identify or determine how hard it is). the person I purchased it from is in France, it was amongst items left in a building he purchased that was once a old barber shop.
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. also the stone isn't flat, and it is larger that my DMT Dia-Sharp D8C, and my Atoma.

@guillermo , I'm not really familiar with cuticles, I only have one and it was thrown in with a different stone I bought so I have no info on mine either. I don't have answers for you but some of the other guys may. @Luecke3262 @BarberDave , any insight?

This is a sweet looking stone! No way I could tell you how "hard" it is without having it in hand, but soft or hard, its about how well it removes steel from the apex of your blade. Type would be very hard to say, it doesn't really have much in the way of identifying characteristics except that it is a natural combo Coticule with some age on it. Its kind of like attributing a JNAT to a specific mine in Japan, there is very little to tie them to a specific location.

The question is how does it hone? Have you tried it yet? THAT IS A HUGE SIZE and should be wonderful for dilutions and even bevel setting!
