While those of us who have served appreciate your sentiment, Memorial Day is meant to honor those who did not return, and paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
It is for that reason that I wear a POW/MIA bracelet. I have worn it every day since I acquired it in 1994, so I will never forget their sacrifice.
Mine honors: 2LT James H Taylor, US Army from California. MIA since 15 Feb 1971 in Laos.
