Given that MDC states that its soaps should last 8 months to a year of everyday shaves, I have decided to put it to the test. I am an everyday shaver and will use MDC original for my daily shaves. I load a Simpson’s Trafalgar 24 mm sovereign fibre knot with a 10 second swirl and bowl lather. This makes enough lather for a plus 3 pass shave. I shave with this at least 6 days per week, and occasionally rest the puck for one day.
This is a picture of the the soap after day 30. So far, so good. There is a slight dip at the centre of the puck and the jar rim is just becoming visible today.
