I joined the Cadre a few weeks ago but didn’t go to posting. My general experiences on other forums has not been too favorable. I will give TSC a fair effort.

I’ve been watching HANDLEBARBERDAVE’s videos on YouTube for about 3 months along with his partners in shaving. What’s got me going here tonight is my brief contacts with Bill M. We watch each other’s videos on YouTube and shoot each other comments.

As said, I’ve got a Chanel on YouTube and posting up shaving videos. I’m a “Longhaultanker” on the road, straight razor shaving in the truck stops most nights. In fact waiting for a shower now in Elizabethtown KY.

I don’t know how much I’ll post here, but I thought I’d at least introduce myself here tonight. I’m 62 years old, live in Spring TX, married with kids and grandchildren, and… I took up straight razor shaving 6.5 years ago. It’s been a wonderful journey.

Welcome to the forum!!! That’s awesome that you shave in the truck stops! I bet you get tons of comments from the guys who pass you by. What is in your travel kit? Curious if you’re using a shavette or if you’re using a traditional straight and a paddle strop. I hope to see you around!

Paid private showers. Rarely shave in public. Watch tomorrow night’s video on YouTube. I’ll make it about just what you ask.

Can I call you ‘Tank’ as a nickname or would you prefer something else?

I found the Journals section nice. I can write about what I do and like on my journal, then follow others along and get to know them.

I find folks here like to have fun at what we do.

Tank is fine. Some have called me LHT.
 
I would like to here how much gear you take and what you carry on the road. After viewing a couple of your videos, that I believe were back to back nights on the road, it appears you're taking multiple straights, brushes , soaps, etc with you. It would make an interesting post or short video.
 
Watched your last video. We like to rib each other when our videos get long. Over an hour sir? Epic! You just shut down comments for us approaching 30min.

How many passes was that? You gotta have skin of steel.
