Lisa's Artisan Dunnottar

I decided to try this as I am sure you all know by now that I really like her shaving soap. More importantly, the scent description of "blend of grapefruit, black pepper, vetiver and wood" ticked all my boxes and I had to have it. 🤪

First, let me "set the table" by saying that with my YaQi synthetics I just need to load out of the tub for a max. of 5 seconds and have loads of lather. Lather that turns to "yogurt" rapidly and has all the slickness in spades. It even made a Bic Astor blade shave like a top tier Gillette blade!! 😲 For the PSF fans I can only go on what others say as I use a facial cleanser in the shower post shave. Regardless, her artisan tier gets nothing but rave reviews by most as regards the PSF question.

Now for the raison d'etre of my ownership: the scent. This is not an overbearing or "loud" scent in the least. I rate it a "5" for strength. However, the "grapefruit, black pepper, vetiver and wood" all seamlessly blend in here. I let two adult laymen who are not wetshavers take a whiff from the unused tub and both said it smelled very dignified and they liked it very much. This is easily the most gentlemanly of Lisa's scents that I have smelled. I like it a lot as it can also be paired with a variety of AS's & colognes. I'm glad as well I have it as this is a limited run.

I have a brand new unused tub of it because the scent is near non existent to my nose. It would have to open up a lot at lathering to get anything for me. I was excited when I read the scent notes and was disappointed when it arrived and sniffed it........
