I just upgraded from a Garmin FR 235 to a Fenix 5 Plus. It is a HUGE jump in usability. One of the biggest for me is the pool swim activity. I go into an almost zen like state when I swim and lose track of how many laps I've done, problem solved with the 5 plus! I can make workouts for a swim or a run and not worry about spacing out and forgetting the program. The battery life is great, about a week and a half with 5 to 7 workouts actively tracked during that time. There are some really good deals out there on the 5 plus which is nice. I was looking at getting the Fenix 6 but the cost difference is crazy!

Yea...that was the biggest factor in my purchase of the 5x Fenix. The functionality is close enough (I mean, it was the top-of-the-line a couple years ago after all) and the savings is just too good.

I was on the fence between a fenix model and a polar vantage. I went with polars because the fenixs had so many models and that 6s saphhire was like 8 bills and i just couldn’t do all that comparison fomo.
