Hello from Norway

WegianWarrior

Shave Newbie
'morning all :)

Some familiar faces here... including Phil, who told me about this place.

For those I've not meet before; I'm Norwegian, been wetshaving for about fifteen years, got a blog about wetshaving, and is more than a bit interested in old razor and shaving patents.

I also do a bit of creative writing, play with wood working in my shed, read a lot, and have started messing about with AI-tools lately.

In between all of that I also work in the Norwegian Military - 32 years in uniform and counting.

So... glad to be here. Looking forward to getting better acquainted with all of you.

Welcome to The Cadre!

We have threads going for many of your other hobbies, and if you don’t find one that fits, start a new one. We’re always interested in learning about new things.

Do you have any good shaving products that are local to you?

What are you current favorite traditional shaving gear pieces and software?
Oh, one of the hard questions... I dunno. I got twenty or so razors in my current rotation - most of which are vintage - and I love them all for various reasons. But my Holy Grail of razors are the early Schick Injectors. I'm lucky enough to have both a Type A and two Type B, but still looking for a Type C...
As for brushes, I like horse. Simple as that.
And soaps etc? With one or two exceptions, I've yet to meet a soap, croap, or cream I didn't find some redeeming factor about ;)

It's great to see you here!
Likewise Phil. Good to see you and other familiar faces again :)

Norway is a wasteland as far as shaving go... nah, I'm kidding. But I have not tried many local brands, since it is often cheaper and easier to buy from abroad. One of the few local brands I've tried (and liked) is Bergums Såpkokeri and his Brutalt Bra Barbersåpe - which I incidentally got via Phil. Phil is an enabler 😋

Welcome. I visited Norway a few years ago. Bergen and Alesund. Your country is beautiful. I hope to make it back again someday.
