Hello all

Well I got a package in the mail that was sent to me by a member over on another forum where I'm doing a Shave Off thread. So I thought I'd share some info on here. I got two complete Haircut & Shave SS 17 4 razors which btw are in a pass around and my turn came up. One is the OC and the other the SB and they both came with a identical handle. I decided to do a Shave Off to see how they compare. I've had to sustain from shaving for a few days as I had some surgery this past Friday on my nose and Doctors orders were to not get my face wet until Sunday so I'm happy to get some of the bandages off and be able to wash my face and shave. So I thought why not do the comparison today. I want to see how they compare in efficiency and smoothness mostly as I don't think there will be any difference in balance, maneuverability or glide based on the fact their both identical except for the OC and SB.

I have to say at first glance the fit and finish on these razors seems like they may be up there with the very best I've seen and I'm going to do a comparison with my Wolfman and Raw Shaving RS 10 as those have the best fit and finish of any other razors in my den and I'm curious to see how the H&S 17 4 matches up. For those that aren't familiar with 17 4 SS it is harder than 316 and it takes a polish better but from what I gather it's harder to work with and it can shorten the life of machinery when using it. Of course I'm no metal expert and just relaying what I've been told or read. So this should be a interesting Shave Off. Here's a photo of the razors and the gear I'm shaving with for today's Shave Off. Oh and my photos don't do any of this gear any justice.. photography is not one of my strong points LOL

Looking forward to your thoughts. I'm somewhere down the list fo that passaround.

Nice stuff Frank. Was going to join that but burned out on testing new razors lately. Glad your healing up and looking forward to the review.

I know Dave you must be burning out as I see your videos and it's always something new. That happens to me doing the Shave Offs once in a while where I just feel like I need to take a break. I just want to use what I want to use that day but I can't or I feel like I'm letting the followers of the thread down. Also 90% of the time I'm always shaving with 2 razors so clean up takes longer and once in a while I like using just one razor and not having to stop after shaving one section of my face and then grab the other razor for the next section. Also I'll add the shipping costs and insurance especially on razors like these 2 which require a decent amount of insurance gets costly after while.

Thanks on the healing up. 👍 🙂

Glad to hear you are healing Frank. That is one beautiful set up. As an extra please give us a review of that gorgeous white brush and stand when you have a chance
