John from Michigan checking in. I'm an active browser over at the other place, but am definitely more of a a "reader" than a "poster." I missed the musings of a lot of the fine folks that now call this place home, so it made sense to join up. Happy to be aboard and good luck with the site--maybe I'll even post something here from time to time!

A little more about me. As mentioned, I live on the west side of Michigan and am a big Michigan fan (Go Blue!). Within the last few weeks, my wife and I celebrated the birth of our first child--a little girl. It's been life changing and all for the good (except for my golf game

). As to shaving, it's become one of the best moments of my day over the past 1.5 years or so. A decent number of those shaves have been with straight razors, but I've drifted back to safety razors (both DE and AC) for the summer months. Thanks for reading.

I have a 4 year old son and a 15 month old Daughter. My golf game is practically non existent now sadly! But having the kids is worth it.

Hope to see some posts from ya and joining in on the banter!
 
Good to have you here John, readers are very welcome. With a new little one you might find yourself up at odd hours... check out the member video section, Chad’s videos will put you both right back to sleep. My videos however, pure gold.

Seriosly though, congratulations to you and your wife on the new baby. Good times ahead for you both.

Huge congrats on the birth of your daughter! Welcome to parenthood! Drifting back to a DE is probably a good thing for those post late night diaper change shaves. ?
 
Welcome John. I'm a Michigan Native myself. Grew up outside of Grand Rapids (Lowell). Then the Military took me all over the place and I ended up in Missouri. Sure do miss the lakes though.

All 3 of my kids are grown and out on their own, now. But, this has led to another of life's greatest pleasures: grandchildren!
