I joined about a month ago but am just now getting around to writing my intro.

Having been a shift worker most of my life it has always been more convenient for me to use an electric razor despite the fact I never found one that gave me a very close shave. When I did shave with a razor it was the first one I bought when entering USAF basic training in the late 1970's: The Gillette Atra. For me it was a little better than an electric razor but not by much.

It wasn't until after I retired and read a number of articles about wet shaving that I finally delved into the hobby in 2018. What a difference! I now own 5 safety razors, 3 brushes, 6 different soaps, and a number of other different odds and ends. I've already discovered a lot of great information and tips on this site. Thank you for that. I look forward to learning more and expanding my collection.

Glad you found us and great intro! I won’t hold the Southern Cal part against you too much. Welcome to TSC!

Thank you,

I just picked up a Rockwell 6C razor last month. At first I wasn't sure I'd like swapping out base plates to adjust the blade angle but it really isn't as inconvenient as I thought. I'm still trying to dial in the right blade to pair it with. So far Personna Platinum seems to be working well. I recently picked up some Captain's Choice Venture and B&M Seville shave soaps which have been doing a great job. Sooo many choices out there. I'm trying to contain myself. I shave roughly ever 2 to 3 days. As it stand now I probably have enough soap to last me well into 2022. :)
