I joined about a month ago but am just now getting around to writing my intro.
Having been a shift worker most of my life it has always been more convenient for me to use an electric razor despite the fact I never found one that gave me a very close shave. When I did shave with a razor it was the first one I bought when entering USAF basic training in the late 1970's: The Gillette Atra. For me it was a little better than an electric razor but not by much.
It wasn't until after I retired and read a number of articles about wet shaving that I finally delved into the hobby in 2018. What a difference! I now own 5 safety razors, 3 brushes, 6 different soaps, and a number of other different odds and ends. I've already discovered a lot of great information and tips on this site. Thank you for that. I look forward to learning more and expanding my collection.
