What are some modern alternatives to the Gillette Tech? I’m aware of the Feather AS-D2, what else would provide a similar shave?

I prefer the real thing.

Me too I have 3 or 4. I’m more or less looking for a razor I can take down range with me, that I won’t be kicking myself if it gets lost, stolen, or broke.

The RR Game Changer .68 shaves much like a prewar Tech to my feel. The head is a bit more bulky but still nimble enough to reach all the stubble areas with ease, for me.

I always thought it was reminiscent of the Hybrid tech in design. After looking for a pic of the Hybrid tech, I guess I'm wrong. The hybrid appears to pop out in the center, as the Gamechanger is recessed.

The Gamechanger does shave well, but I always thought it was more efficient than a tech. Probably why I was thinking it was a hybrid-esque razor? [emoji6]

I’ve never tried a Hybrid, so couldn’t say. My initial thoughts were that the GC was a first attempt at targeting the WR1 market. That was just a guess. 🤷‍♂️

I love the tech. It’s actually one of my favorite Gillette’s. But, I own the AS-D2 and I think it’s a step up from the Tech. The RazoRock Teck 2 is another close one, but not as good. And even though the GC looks sort of like a tech, I found it nothing like the tech at all.

For me, it is the Carbon Shaving CX-316L. Base plate seem to be a cross between the triangle slot and flat bottom Techs. Three different plates, with the original plate being closest to the Tech, but more efficient. I didn't like the handle too much and so swapped it with my Heritage (which I didn't like the head).
