Well I know I haven't been keeping my journal up to date, but I have a review to offer up to the cadre today. I am someone who while yes I do own so pretty top shelf stuff, I still like to try and find a deal. Bonus if it can be had at my local store. My go to used to be this:

Amazon.com : NIVEA MEN Sensitive Shaving Cream, 3.5 oz Tube : Beauty

I can't find that Nivea cream anymore locally, but it was such a good budget friendly cream that I would use A LOT! When I was traveling a lot for work I would always throw one in my luggage, and I have gone through at least 5 tubes of the stuff over the years. Anyways this review is about something different.

I have seen plenty of ads about Gillette's new pure line and never took the plunge. So a couple weeks ago while at the local wal-mart I saw this:

Pure Shave Cream for Sensitive Skin Shaving | Gillette®

After tax it came to roughly $6 so for 6 oz that's really not that bad. While looking over the packaging I was happy to see it said to use a shave brush. Similar to the nivea! So I threw it in the cart.

Now after a few shaves I am happy to say that in my opinion it is actually slicker and easier to lather than the Nivea. The scent is real similar too!

Anyone else tried this cream? If so what where your thoughts? Personally I think I will keep a tube in the den going forward for those quick shaves.

Also picked up a tube a couple months back on a whim when I saw it mentioned lathering with a brush. I've only used it a handful of times so far, but echo your sentiment. Nice and slick, with a mild clean scent. Super extra kudos that it's a lathering cream that is widely available in big box and drug stores here in the US.

Thanks @GearNoir for the mention. Yes I have used it multiple times and it seems to lather pretty well and is fairly slick as well.. It has menthol And peppermint oil in it which gives a fresh tingly feel as you use it. The aloe in it helps with aiding in a soothing post shave and the stuff washes away clean without leaving a slimy feeling on your face. It also doesn't clog up or leave the razor or blades gunky. A lot of reviews online describe a citrus smell.. To me it smells fresh.. I already have a couple of tubes of the stuff and will try to make sure I keep it on hand for future use...

I saw the reviews about citrus... glad to see I am not the only one who does NOT detect citrus

I wasn't saying I don't detect the slightest bit of citrus.. I do get the faintest bit but not much... I actually like citrus scents and think they can be considered fresh too but this doesn't have a lot. I just went to check mine to make sure and like I said its very mild.. I detect the peppermint scent and menthol scents mostly..
