Well I guess it is finally my turn. My name is Chad, I go by cvargo here. I know real original lol.
Some background I have four main things that control my life. First my family I am a husband and a father to two great kids a boy and a girl. Second is my faith I am devout Catholic and a 4th degree Sir Knight in the Knights of Columbus, I am currently serving as the Deputy Grand Knight of my council. Third I work for a fortune 500 company and manage a testing team in which we test systems to ensure our programs are working as expected before install, I have been working for this company 11 years this June. Lastly I am a High School football and basketball referee this is my me time. I love officiating and hope to keep moving up. My goal is to officiate a Division 1 football game.
So shaving. I started into this hobby 4 years ago. Upset by the cost of fusion cartridges. I remembered a friend at work said he uses a butterfly razor and Art of Shaving cream. Well that's all I had to go off of and the rest is history. I now own over 200 soaps/creams, 100+ aftershaves and colognes, 30+ Brushes, and 20+ Different razors. I am a soap guy and love all the variety they bring to my shave. I have my wife shaving this way also now... she's getting out of control with a den consisting of 9 soaps! Oh the humanity. My favorite set up is probably the Feather SS system and a scent that is in the wheelhouse of barbershop or a fern type scent, but I won't say no to a nice citrus.
On the weekends if you can't find me calling a game I am usually at home smoking meat, or camping with my family, or just spending time with the family whatever that might be.
As to this site, I am one of the three owners. Dave, Chris, and I had a vision, discussed it for months and due to events we finally pushed it over the edge and made it a reality. We are you, we just want a place to burn time, BS, and just escape for a little bit. I hope to be able to deliver that for you. I love the camaraderie that is wetshaving and that it creates which is where the name Shaving Cadre came to be. I am so excited to see this site grow and can't wait to see how it develops! Without the original members this site would not be possible. And everyone that comes and joins down the road Thank you, for your support and commitment to a place in the crazy world to just relax and enjoy the banter.
