Entropy Man by Wholly Kaw

I have used Rebelde in the new Siero base and IMO it shaves no better than their previous base. but most people are going to buy it for the purported PSF which is meaningless to me. I think B&M Excelsior is better as is A&E, but YMMV.

PSF?

I was wondering about this one as well. How is the scent? If it whips up as good as previous WK, then I'm good...just curious about the scent.

No one buys WK for the scent. It's ok, but meek IMO. A&E has the best scents hands down.
I recommend that, if possible, people try to get samples of WK soap to confirm they like the scents before they buy. I've never found a scent that I've loved from WK. A few are fine and I'll use them. But for whatever reason, Sri's taste and mine don't match.

I used my Rebelle sample again today and I want to expand a bit on the scent if I may. Their webpage says:

Notes of Oud, Leather, Tobacco, Sandalwood, Vetiver

I enjoy the scent actually as not only does it smell nice, but it is also unique which is a plus considering that the scent notes are not exactly strange to artisan soap lines. It is indeed an excellent soap. Make no mistake about that. It's just that $30 is IMO simply over the top. o_O

FWIW, of their other scents Fougere Bouquet is excellent as is Jamestown Gentleman, but they are medium strength at best. That's not to say that's bad, just that if you are wanting to be "swept off your feet" by scents then WK is not the one. YMMV.

I mostly agree with this. I personally don't buy WK for the scent but one scent that I have tried is among my top tier: Lav Sublime. King of Bourbon (Buffala base) is also very good. I am told Sandhurst and Pasha's Pride, both in the Buffala base, are also worth considering though I have not tried them. A&E is tops for scents for me as well. I rank B&M not as high. I think Noble Otter is another top scent formulator. All of course subjective.

The Siero base is topnotch but, as you say, some of that is post shave feel. I don't feel it shaves less well than B&M Excelsior or A&E. I think all the three are really good.

Sound advice. Scents are a crapshoot with WK and it is difficult to figure out how to get samples.

People are saying that Rebelle is the best of the Siero based scents to date. I have to wonder what Entropy Man and the upcoming Denarius are like but then I am not likely to find out as I have shut down my new soap purchases including samples. What I do know is that Fougere Mania does not exactly ring my bell though I don't dislike it. Where you and I differ is with regard to $30 being over the top--for me it is not. I was taking a look at Bullgoose the other day to see what Eufros soaps they have in stock and noticed that Rosa-Oud is going for $49.95 for a 125 gm tin. That may be over the top.

And to think that Eufros is, at least IMO, just another run of the mill artisan soap, i.e., nothing special. I think a few years back it was a big "duck" in a small pond, but the market is glutted at present. Just my 2 cents.
