So all the talk about the Weck Sextoblade got me thinking about a Durham Duplex which is the Durham version of a Weck. Proprietary blade as far as I can tell. Then I remembered that I have a Durham Dorset which is the DE version. Same blade as the Dorset as I can tell. Actually I have one and a half. I picked one up early in my shaving career and was all excited because there were blades a box and a razor. Except the Razor was missing the Top Plate. Anyway...I found another one all intact later. I have some NOS blades that I have no idea what condition they are in because I have never looked at them. They are wrapped in a thick brown waxy paper. I no reason to believe they are rusty...but I just don't know.

I guess my question is if anyone has some experience with these and if anyone knows if there is another blade out there that is readily available...or at least easier to get. The regular Durham blades can be quite pricey. I did see the Durham Enders Speed Razor Blades for slightly less, but not sure if they fit this razor.

So...any thoughts?

If you want to use your Durham razors, and you want a new (not NOS) blade, your only option is the Personna Pathology blade. You can buy them in bulk form Med supply places, or you can buy them in small quantities from Try-A-Blade. Other places may stock them as well, but I know they carry them.

Totally off topic, but we visited Dorset a few years back, I loved it, amazing cliff lines, and the worlds best tank museum in Bovington. Seems like another Dorset you'd like @dangerousdon

Thanks KJ! I figured one of you guys would know the answer to this.

KJ, I think they are exactly what I got but they are also used as carpet blades and are ROUGH (Pretty sure it's okay to have this link as it is a buy it now not an auction

i tried the pathology blades in my duplex and those things were as bad as carpet blades for me.. i want to be able to try the thing out but haven't found a good blade for it...

yeah i dont know it just seemed to tug pretty badly with either.
I want to get one of the dovo long shaper blades and see if removing from the center the very end little nubs will work i mean i made a de blade work with the durham duplex but the blade is just a little wide almost leaves no comb and really isnt long enough even though it would work.
