Cold Water and Witch Hazel Soaked Washcloth

When I am feeling a bit frisky, or have had a rather 'rough' shave, I like to soak a washcloth in very cold water, squeeze out the excess water and proceed to add a generous amount of witch hazel to the washcloth. Then use it in a similar fashion as a pre-shave hot towel. I hope some of you will try this and perhaps your creativity will be sparked and you could help give this technique a name.

Peace.

I'll try to remember to give this technique a try in my next VLOG.

Sounds like a perfect hot weather/summer technique...whether you have shaved or not! Will definitely be giving this a try. Cold Water and Cucumber Thayers...oh man!

That was awesome! So true. I am too lazy to do it everyday also. That is pretty much it, I don't ring out as much water, but that will work. Very cool. ?

Thanks Tony. It’s a great idea..... and my skin really does feel good, no, it feels great! That’s pretty much the only thing different from yesterday’s shave, and I notice a big difference in smoothness of my skin. You’re really onto something!

PS When the weather is 'super' hot I do the same thing with Florida Water. It is not as therapeutic to the skin as the witch hazel in my opinion, but it is very cooling and braces with a nice sting. There is something about a cold water splash after a shave that suits my skin very well and I always finish with it.

Peace.

You can call it "The Cadre Cooler" and make it a signature move, exclusive to this forum. That would be fun if the idea floats. Thanks again.

The Cadre Cooler definitely has a nice ring to it.

I always rinse the lather off my face with cold water, so I’m sort of doing the same thing.

i had thought about adding some Thayers medicated or even some Osage Rub to it to enhance the cooling.

Those variations sound splendid. Make it your own. Enjoy!
