My soap/AS samples arrived today and I will give you my opinion of the scent as we all know that Excelsior soap is superb. I spritzed my arm with the AS sample and my brain froze for a moment..................then I immediately "recognized" the scent: this is very similar to Pinaud Clubman, but far better "rounded" and not nearly as harsh. Outstanding!!! For lovers of Pinaud Clubman the Sunny Lane soap will be manna from Heaven!! This one took audacity to make and straight out of nowhere!! Color me impressed!!

Ouch. I was into this scent, and almost blind bough it...... up until you said that. I hate Clubman. From their descriptions it didn't sound like ti was going to be barbershopy at all.

I'm not one for clubman either. I tried the soap sample recently and didn't like it. That might be why.

I sold my clubman long ago, so don't remember what it smells like. But that guess sounds right to me.

Whatever it resembles, I don't associate it with kids and playing outside, like the write-up says.

If it does smell like clubman, a lot of people will get into it, I imagine.
