So as you probably know Personna has gone through several ownerships over the past decades. But I just found out by accident is that a company called Accutec is now the proud owner of this company still based out of Verona, VA. They manufacture most of their blades out of Virginia and Mexico. That includes all Gem & Personna blades as well as surgical and hospital blades of all kinds. You can also include scientific blades. What a history going back to the late 1800s.

Uh... I might have stocked up on the US made blades. ;)

We do save money in this sport, right?? 🤪

@bosch ... Assuming you have the US blades, how do they compare to the Israeli (and med/lab prep)? I've only used the Israeli and Med prep. Wasn't too fond of them, but this thread made me realize I haven't given the normal US blades a shot yet. Might grab some before stock shifts around in stores to the new brand. 👍

So the blues are still made in Israel right? Or everything is made in the US now?

I do have the US blades. Personna comfort coated. I (as do many) call these the Personna blue. Beyond this, it gets murky. Here's what I understand; BTW, there are many threads hither and yon trying to discern the facts about the Personna brand.

I have the Personna lab blue/comfort coated. I do not have, nor have I used the med preps. I have read that some think that the med preps are sharper/better. Again, I can't speak for the med preps. I have used the Israeli reds. I liked the reds, but I've read that they have been discontinued. The blues or lab blues or comfort coated are (for me!) one of the most consistent blades I've used. For various reasons, I avoid Gillette blades, Procter & Gamble blades, you get the idea. The comfort coated blade is pretty easy to find currently. I stockpiled several boxes because they are currently my favorite blade, and I'm not sure that they will be available going forward. Again, I've done a bit of research, and this is what works for me. YMMV. :)

I stockpiled 500 if the Israeli Red blades back in March. It's a good blade. I read that production of the Reds had moved to Germany.
