A few finds in the wild...

Took a 45 minute road trip to an antiques store in rural Ohio today. Town called Brookville. Took the back roads, so there was rarely a car behind me impatient because I was driving 5 mph under the speed limit. I like looking at small rural homes as I drive.

Within 2 minutes of entering the store, I spot two red tip Super Speeds, a GEM Micromatic, and a G type Injector. This is a good sign. Perhaps here I will find an Aristocrat? Or maybe just an 84 Super Adjustable?

I leave the ones I spotted alone for someone else of us to discover. I already have a red tip, Micromatic, and G-6 Injector. I'm a user, not a hoarder!

So I got this Rolls Razor. Which I know next to nothing about. It wasn't until later, looking at it at a Mexican restaurant that I discovered it is "a bit of straight razor with a handle". Looks like I need some mink oil and some honing oil...

Closed comb Micromatic. Honestly, I bought this for the bakelite case. Look at the detail that went into stamping those old GEM blades.

I didn't have a ceramic Old Spice mug. And I like how deep this one is. I just wish it had the interior sidewall ridges to hold the Puck in place.

That mug is pretty cool!!
So are you a Buckeye?? As you can see from my picture I am?
Where do you live in Ohio? I am from Cincinnati.

It’s not a shave mug, it’s a coffee mug. It’s from the Morning Refresher set sold in 84-85 that included an aftershave and a tube of shaving cream.

Honestly, I had my suspicions! To me, a proper shaving mug has those ribs on the interior side wall that keep the soap from spinning. This doesn't have that.

Few shave mugs actually have those. I think my old spice mugs are the only ones that do, and only a few styles, the later ones. Early mugs didn’t.

First I've heard about it. Haven't made plans.

I'll bet we've raided a few of the same antique malls.
