2024 - Shaving Most Used and Favorite Things

So Cadre, with 2 weeks left in the year 2024 what were some of your most used, most loved shaving items? Any amazing new (or new to you) shaving things you tried for the first time this year?

Here’s a thread to share your 2024 experiences with everyone!

Looking back over my notes I had a few clear standouts:

Razor Maker : Atelier Durdan (Vestige et La Faulx). I used these single edge razors a lot this past year (first is a GEM and the second an AC), and are continuing to really enjoy the shaves they are giving.

Brush Maker : Wald. I now own several versions of the Wald A1 and find myself reaching for them all the time.

Soap: My most used single soap of the past year was Haslinger. This surprised me, but it’s a nice no nonsense soap that just works. I have the sheep’s milk which has a light scent that is easy to use daily.

After care: Ethos. I think I tried to use some combination of their splash and skin food lotion every day. My skin loves it (especially the skin food lotion).

One must try from 2024: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again you guys should be trying Ethos Skin Food Lotion. It is shave-life changing.

hmmm Ok, Ill play

Most Used Items of 2024

DE / SE style Razors: Blackland Vector. IMHO the best AC style razor in existence. Unique design, ergonomically perfect and very predictable in shave characteristics. When match with a Feather Blade, or in my case a Kai Captain MG pro-guard, there is no razor, aside from a Straight that can match it.

Straight Razor: I found that I gave most of my SR's equal time, but the W/B 8/8 stands out, as does any of the Jerry Stark Customs I have

Removable Blade SR ( Shavette): Essence by Tedalus. Simply the closest to a straight razor period

Brushes: I found I grabbed for the Sorrentino ( @Smattayu ) more often than any of the other 40-50 brushes I have.

Soap: Not really one over the others however, due to timing and ease of use Proraso is on top, again only per convenience, as I rotate to a new soap almost every day, but CBL is up there as well

Aftershave: Again, no clear winner, but again Proraso Green

Witch Hazel: thayers / Quinns

Talc ; Clubman

Fragrance: Floris overall in a variety of Flavors

Razor: Tedalus Essence

Brush Maker: Yaqi

Soap Maker: CBL

After care: Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm

Everything else I used too randomly to sum up off the top of my head.
