UACowboy's Razor Restorations & 3D Printing

Howdy folks. I figured I'd show ya'll what I'm working on. And no I don't know why my posts here end up being typed with extra twang.

So the current project is is this Wade & Butcher 7/8.

Its getting cleaned up and a set of custom scales.

Here is the blade after cleanup.

It was sanded lightly with 100 grit to remove the stains and then worked up to 1k grit and then polished with MAAS.

And here is the sketch of the scales

Had to get some tools back up and running so haven't had a chance to get the scales going yet but hopefully in my next set of days off i can make some progress. Plus side my bandsaw is working again and i have a new benchtop drill press!

I need a bandsaw and a jigsaw.....

I love those old W&B's. Can't wait to see the scales when they're done.

Congrats on the new drill press! Those are game changers. I've got a little Craftsman benchtop bandsaw, but really need to save up for something better. This one is enough to cut scales, but that's about it.

Got some ship time in today.

Decided to keep it a little beefy to balance out the blade. I'm pretty happy with the shape.

That blade looks so beast. Very nice job on the scales Kyle! I like the frosted look and that slight orange pop.

The ghost jade G10 is interesting to work with but it really does look nice.

Beautiful, I love the colors of the scales.

If it's not rude to ask, how much would something like this run?

Thanks, the Ghost Jade is really nice material for sure.

It's against the TOU to talk about that in the forum but we can talk via PM if you'd like.

It's premature now, but I'll contact you when our next US visit is nearer, and I've had more straight time under my belt. The Torrey I have has broken scales and I could see doing something along these lines.

Doing business with The Shaving Cadre Hobbyist is EASY, you just start a conversation with them via PM. Our hobbyist are allowed to show and discuss what they do here in the Hobbyist forum but all "business" must be conducted by PM. This allows for better communication between our members and hobbyist and ensures everyone gets what they want and expect. @HMan I hope you DO make use of Kyle's services when you are back in the states again, he will definitely take care of what you need and hand your razor back to you ready to shave.
