Decent weekend. Tried out a new pizza place which had okay pizza but pretty tasty appetizers. We'll have to go back to try their pasta sometime. I recently realized that after dealing with the tree removals, our big trip was coming up and I've gotten off the home improvement train. It was super windy this weekend, but unseasonably warm so Sunday I decided to tackle a small project. Through the years of switching from cable, to satellite, to fiber, and now cable, our house has collected unused wires attached to it like spider webs. So I decided to go out and clean all that up. Long story short, I wasn't paying close attention and ended up cutting the only one I shouldn't. Which lead to trying to get through the cable company automated messages and then chat to schedule a repair. No small feat. Then the realization that I could get stuck with a service charge and we would be out of internet for 2 days, I decided to run to the home store for the tools to stick new ends on and patch the line back together. This cost way more than it should, but what ya going to do.

Got in my beautiful brushes from @pipingtenor2570. This one has a name, but I'm working on the branding. I don't know which works best. STinker, STiNKER, sTinker. Was a little worried this brush might be too beefy for my hands which are highly trained for fine detail and wine glass holder. Nope, it's great!

The long weekend I decided to finally tackle another home repair task. Since we live in the fog belt, we had rust starting to encroach on our garage door. Saturday was washing and then scrubbing the door with vinegar and steel wool because that's what the interwebs said to do. Sunday was a coat of rust resisting primer. Then my wife mentioned we should go get a new mattress. That's not what she said a few months ago when I said the same thing, but that's what we did. Monday was supposed to be 2 coats of paint, but there was a mist in the air, so no painting. Next weekend should allow for that.

I was on the right track with the guess the pain game a little while back. Ended up in the ED last night with that pain that can only mean kidney stone now. I told the doc that this time I don't want the laser treatment and I'll just tough it out because the stent that's in place after the laser sucks. Well, when they found out the size of the stone after the CT, that plan was out the window. I have my consult with Uro tomorrow and should find out the date of the procedure. Until then it's a fun game of when will the pain strike again.
In good news, it's looking like we might have talked the youngest to go to UC Davis instead of Santa Barbera. Committment day is Monday, and I won't order my college t-shirt until then.

Saw my Uro doc yesterday. First was a sad contrast with my mom's experiences. She has some really large stones that are too big to leave her kidneys they she needs to see a specialist for. Two different referrals to the specialist with on response. She was finally able to get a phone number and connected with a non-sympathetic clerk who only said they didn't have any of her records, so they couldn't schedule a appointment. What were they doing about that? Nothing. So they were asked to please get the records and my mom was told to call back if she doesn't hear anything. While I had a video appointment less than 48hrs after the referral. He thought maybe the sound wave therapy would work so ordered an xray and told me to swing by when it was done. I went downstairs, got my xray, then sat in his office looking over the images. He still offered trying the sound wave thing, but the images weren't definitive, so I again opted for the friggin' laser thing. His next appointment is in a little over 2 weeks which means I'll still have the stent in when B Dave comes. I made the request for any surgeon with earlier availability so we'll see.

I am so sorry to hear about the kidney stones for you and your mom. I had some seven or eight years ago and ended up in the emergency room--the most pain I have ever had!
Hopefully both are resolved quickly and painlessly!!
