SOTD May 2026

Wednesday morning:

Cool shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/Perma Sharp day 11
B&M Spice SS
Lubriderm Moisturizer
Stirling Spice EdT

Unbelievable is the way to describe this B&M Spice soap - the scent is just about 100% exactly like the Shulton Old Spice soap that was so loved by many guys including myself, the lather is such a pleasure to work up, it’s super slick, and the post-shave feeling is so comfortable. Will really hit a Grand Slam with this one. The Lubriderm moisturizer wasn’t really necessary but since it’s part of my routine I used it and as always it felt so soothing. Finally the gorgeous Stirling Spice fragrance and that’s it - a couple of rounds of golf with some friends of mine. Another fun filled three pass BBS shave that was so awesome!

Wishing you all a great day - be well and stay safe!

A most excellent shave, Lantzman!

WOW! More than 1 round of golf in one day? Only for the young.🤣🤣🤣

Hi everyone
It's been several years since I last used Gillette Platinum blades. They are NOS made in Russia and was happy to find them on Amazon. A fantastically smooth shave!

A beautiful shave, Akhi! I have a couple of NOS Gillette Platinum blades left. They are great blades.

Thursday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Williams Mug Shave Soap
Jayaruh #425 Synthetic
Schick Krona
Astra SP Blade
CWR
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Brut After Shave

I started with the cold water rinse. The Williams lathered well with the Jayaruh #425. I did two passes with the Schick Krona razor with a Astra SP Blade. After a cold water rinse, I finished with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Brut After Shave. I am now clean, smooth, and refreshed.

28 May, 2026

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

"Best Shave of the Week" candidate this morning. Returned to PAA and their excellent "Immortal Peach" shave soap & splash. Fantastic scent and lather built with the WWBW badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching aftershave splash / cologne & CBL Premium Barber Powder.

Zero feedback from the alum!. BBS bliss!!

Hope you have a great day. :)

Thursday morning:

Cool shower
Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Super Speed/Perma Sharp day 12
Vi John Menthol SC
Gold Bond Moisturizer
Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Splash

This Vi John Menthol cream is from India and it’s not really one of the better shaving products from there. It gives excellent lather, yes but it has kind of a weird scent, the menthol sensation is barely noticeable, and the post-shave feeling is just comme ci comme ça - in other words once I finish it I don’t want it again. The Gold Bond moisturizer gave me lots of much needed soothing, and the Aqua Velva felt so good. All in all a great three pass BBS shave so no complaints.

Wishing you all a nice day - be well and stay safe!

It's been a few months since I've had MWF in the lineup. I love everything about this soap. The lather, scent, performance, and post shave are all top notch for me.

Thanks for your post. I agree with you on the VI-JOHN. I have the Icy Mint and I did have the Fruit Fusion. (Smells like Juicy Fruit gum). VI-JOHN does the job but it's mediocre and I don't plan on purchasing it again.

It’s surprising because India puts out so many great creams but Vi John is a big dud.
