I had an awesome shave today. I loaded my brush off the Mitchell's Wool Fat puck and then built a creamy, thick, slick lather in my bowl. The GC with the .68-p plate with a 5th use Rex Platinum blade glided across my face and easily removed 2 days of growth. I am clean, refreshed and BBS.

Wow, this glacial version of MITA is around three times more mentholated as the regular one so you can just imagine how cold it is - every other thing about it is the same. A beautiful citrusy/tropical scent, thick, rich, mega slick lather, and such soothing post-shave care. The Gold Bond moisturizer was so comfortable and cooling, not to mention how delightfully scented and frigid the Floid Vigoroso aftershave is. Three passes knocked off my tough stubble and gave me a wonderful BBS shave that I enjoyed so much!

I tried again with the Rex Page with 1 day of growth. This razor is too mild. I opened it up by an 1/8th turn to try and give it some efficiency. Overall I got DFS.

Another phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to my vintage Shulton Old Spice suite of products. Wonderful Old School scent with an incredible lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching aftershave lotion, talc & EdC,

BBS bliss!!

finished reading my third book about the sinking of the SS El Faro this week. 2015, merchant marine vessel, arrogant captain sails his ship directly into hurricane against the repeated advice of his crew. ship sinks, all souls lost. The black box was recovered with the last 26 hours of audio from the bridge. I just finished reading the transcripts. As I read them, I kept saying "Mark wouldn't have done that...Mark wouldn't have done that..." Captain Mark was a great captain before he was made Rear Admiral and retired. He listened to all his crew and would even consider information from a Yeoman. I would feel safe on any ship, mission, or engagement if you were my CO.
