It was indeed. The side shot shows the wonderful angle of attack. I went months without being able to feel anything with that fingertip. I guess it means that I was able to make a blade at least semi-sharp once upon a time.
 
You were almost left with a permanent “Hang loose” sign on that hand.
 
Its actually just the knuckle. Was trying to turn a stuck shaft with a 3 foot pipe wrench and punched an adjusting gear on the way by. Left some skin on the teeth, but all is good. It's only a flesh wound.🤣

Just got a flashback to the last time I smelled burning skin. It was pretty gnarly too. The student with that crew seemingly refused to go in the room with them. I guess I get it, but I saw it as valuable experience. Not too often we see burns like that.
