Cheap straight

Been thinking of buying a cheap Chinese straight.
Anyone have any recommendations?
I am curious about using a solid blade. I have a shavette and have loved it, so I thought I might look I to it.
Thanks

If cheap is what you want a gold dollar or Zy fits the bill. Probably a ZY, the gd’s have a nasty shoulder that makes them hard to hone.

Whipped Dog usually has some really good deals on restored vintage razors.

I second the option for Whipped Dog. If he has his Sight Unseen deal going, you’re good! Guaranteed (from my experience and others’) properly sharpened when you get it. Add on a Poor Man’s strip kit and you have everything you need for at least your first 30ish shaves.

This is how I started out.

A whipped dog would come very much shave ready. A ZY or Gd would have to be honed by one of us or you would be very disappointed.

+1 on Whipped Dog! If he doesn't have them listed on his website, email him and ask.

Whatever you decide on, make sure it is "shave ready" or have a honemeister hone it for you!

Gold Dollars are cheap, dull, and hard to hone without some modifications. However they will hold an edge once you get one on it. Some professional honers refuse to hone GD's and such.

Good advice, but let's keep it PG here

Lol. I might just be my atrocious spelling, but I feel like the autocorrect on the iPhone has taken a dump in the last five years.
My android is bad too, but mostly just on the site here so it may just not like something in the high tech over my head workings of it all.

I went this route too. No site listing so I emailed him. Got Swedish steel that was wicked sharp.
